About the Authors and the Publisher
CAPINC Services is a company that was registered to obtain a government grant to help finance the research and publishing of the book, “Handbook For Good Low Cost Eating”. The book was written as a result of an identified need for information received from various agencies helping the less fortunate. In the year 2005, over 2,500 copies of this book were distributed free to low-income families in the Greater Fredericton area through a government grant. Work on this book laid the groundwork for Mr. Parker in becoming not only an author but also a publisher. CAPINC Services now operates as a private company for the writing, publishing and sale of books by Clarence Parker and other authors. Books are sold direct, in bookstores and on the Internet. Clarence Parker is a retired professional engineer (P. Eng) and certified management accountant (CMA). Mr. Parker graduated in Mining Engineering from NS Technical College in 1960. In 1971, he obtained his CMA degree. Mr. Parker has operated a part-time accounting business for over 30 years and his work identified a need by his clients for simple books and records and for help if audited. His “Business Handbook For The Self Employed” is easy to follow and is applicable both in Canada and the United States. The “Good Basic Cooking For Men And Even Women” book was written after Mr. Parker’s wife became unable to do many of the household duties. He found that cooking was not as easy as he thought. His objective was to create a cookbook with easy instructions that everyone can use to make an appetizing meal every time. Hélène Pépin Thomas edits all books published by CAPINC Services. Her editing expertise has significantly contributed to the completion of books that are clear and easy to read. She has that special gift of identifying errors in spelling, grammar and composition. She co-authored the book “Supernatural And Paranormal Experiences, 5 Typical And Related Families”. For this book, she did all of the research and writing on one of the families as well as significant research and writing on a second family. In addition, she has also worked with Clarence Parker on the structure and composition of the total book. James McLean is the nephew of Clarence Parker. James wrote his book, “A Dove Is Set Free To Fly” to make others aware of the difficulties of a marriage breakup. His writing also gave him the strength and courage to carry on and also resulted in his writing of his book of poetry, “Reflections Of The Heart”. Bruce Edington is the nephew of Clarence Parker. He is a child therapist who comes from a family of clinicians. His father was a psychiatrist who practiced in Manhassest, N.Y, his mother (Clarence’s sister) a psychiatric nurse, and his brother and sister are both practicing psychologists. Bruce studied psychology at the State University Of New York where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) in psychology. He continued his education and received his master’s degree in social work (M.S.W.) from the State University of Stony Brook, N.Y. Mr. Edington is now New York State certified as a L.C.S.W. (licensed certified social worker) and also has obtained his clinical status in the field of child and family therapy. The main theme of his book, “The Adventures Of Brucie And His Little Brother William”, is how to help children understand some of the more complex situations in life in a fun and interesting way. His 4 short illustrated stories can be used as a possible therapeutic resource for clinicians, teachers, parents or other adults who might wish to introduce similar ideas at home or in a classroom setting. Stan Graham was raised on the Maple Ridge family farm. He is a lifelong volunteer to many organizations and a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Millville, NB. Stan is university educated and has held many positions including teaching, manufacturing, retail and silviculture. He served as Millville’s Mayor from 1983 to 1992. In 1993 he founded what is now the Louise Breau Memorial Medical Trust fund, a registered charitable organization. Stan wrote his book, ”Tribute To Maple Ridge Veterans” to illustrate how much one very small community sacrificed during the war years. Bill Howard was born and raised on Prince Edward Island. In his early years, he clerked in grocery stores, helped to repair highways, worked in a print shop and bartended at the Charlottetown Hotel. Later he earned a Masters Degree in English Literature and taught writing classes to undergraduates. Bill then spent fourteen years working largely on tobacco issues for the NB Department of Health and Community Services. After leaving government he started his own business William Howard & Associates. Bill was killed in a motor vehicle accident in 2002. Bill is a former pack-a-day man who went on to work in the tobacco reduction field. His humorous book “Nicotine Doohickeys” is written to try and help people quit smoking or help others understand why some people just can’t quit.
